CDCs from many countries recommend that all people wear face masks in public places where it’s difficult to maintain a 6-foot distance from others.
This will help slow the spread of the virus from people with cough or other symptoms when going to a healthcare facility (supposing that they follow rheir social responsibility of not going to other public places); or from others without symptoms or people who do not know they have contracted the virus, to healthy people.
Face masks should be worn while continuing to practice social distancing and all hygiene indications.
It’s critical to reserve surgical masks and N95 respirators for healthcare workers, so any initiative of self sewing masks is more than welcome as long as those follow basic standards of safety.
