”…DOC WHY A DOCTOR SAID TO MY WIFE WE BOTH SHOULD HAVE A MEDICAL REVISION BEFORE HAVING A BABY? WAS HE WANTING TO GET MORE MONEY?”
”HAHAHAAHAHA….!” Yep! that was my immediate answer to my friend there searching for my advice: A hyper LOOOOL (as young people say nowadays). I knew he had a point there cause, seriously, who does that? Majority of people just come to doctors after they are sick or after finding a problem. So when my laughing did stop (and friends know I have a long lasting one), I started the explanations and the thouthands reasons why movie( which its name 13 reasons… but, well, you get my point)
Starting by the fact that everybody should, no, MUST HAVE A MEDICAL REVISION ANNUALLY, having a baby have to be an act of responsibility and both parents should take good care of their health if they wanna make this the happiest event, beyond the moment where both conceive the child, but that’s another story.
It basically takes a general physical examination and some lab tests looking for hidden diseases, or simply to prove you are healthy giving you peace of mind for a one year period. If we find all is Ok then just give your wife some supplements to prevent genetic diseases and to prepare her body to maternity like folic acid
So, no, the doctor wasn’t trying to rob you, he was on the contrary helping you save your money preventing future complications. My advice was yes, go do the check up if you are planning to or are in the position of having a baby.
Simple. Take it or leave it.
I mean, you readers take my advice or leave it; for him I honestly told him:
-”Do it cause you are not gonna come to ask for my advice at this time of the night for nothing”
-”Ok, but he better gives me the vitamins for free!”
LOOOOL………. again, but both of us laughing this time.
